About

The Blog

The word Gospel comes from Old English, deriving from
gōd meaning ‘good’ and spel meaning ‘news’ combing together to literally translate to “good news”. So therefore ‘Jason’s Gospel’ simply means Jason’s Good News which is what this blog aims to provide, with ‘good’ connoting to entertainment and pleasure and ‘news’ connoting to general information centred around my personal thoughts and pleasures which you may find interesting or useful.

The main topics covered in this blog consist of literature, theology, culture, philosophical thought and general social commentary, with a few digressive posts about my life and things that I’ve found and like and deem worthy of sharing. My blog is open to all audiences with a keen interest of the arts and discussion, or anyone simply looking for a relaxing read or wanting to be exposed to new ideas. I am very much open to debate and discussion over ideas concerning topics that i cover and am keen for comments and feedback that may provoke new thoughts or ways at perceiving certain issues.

The Boy

My name is Jason Okundaye, i am a student from the South West of London who is keenly enthusiastic about literature, arts and discussion. I currently study English Literature, History, Philosophy + Ethics and Classical Civilisation at A-level, with the hope to study Theology/Divinity in university. The purpose of this blog is simply to aid my wider reading and ensure that i'm constantly reading about the topics i enjoy, meaning that i develop a much rounder and excellent knowledge of such subjects. Its secondary intent is also to aid my writing style and give me an excuse to write which is a personal hobby. However, other than that i do hope to entertain an audience and am very much open to potential debates or questions that people may have over my ideas. I would be very much interested in sharing views and discussing with others who are interested in the same issues as me. I am grateful for all readers, perhaps even those who may glance through simply to snigger at my passion, after all a view is a view!
